Our areas of intervention

The Rights of the Children

RightChild The most profound needs of children, and of every person, are knowing that someone cares about them and their life, and of being loved in a unique, personal, individual and continuous way. Sharing life with children implies guaranteeing and safeguarding their rights. It also implies helping the child to develop individual awareness, self-determination abilities, positive relationships and solidarity with others.

Global Health

RightChild The sharing of life with AIDS victims, especially in Sub-Sahara Africa, urges the members of the Association to advocate because the fight against the HIV epidemic to be put as a top an trasversal priority in the agenda of international dialogue and decision-making process.

International Solidarity

International Solidarity The debate on the recognition of the right of international solidarity is paramount for helping the human race to become a human family according to the United Nation Charter. The Associazione Comunita’ Papa Giovanni XXIII fully agrees in recognizing international solidarity as a principle of international human rights law and wishes that such principle may be recognised as a human right and lead the nations in establishing a new international order.

Extreme Poverty

GenderEquality Today almost half the population in developing countries live in extreme poverty. They are often socially excluded and marginalized from political power and processes. Their right to effectively participate in public affairs is often ignored. The elimination of extreme poverty is not a question of charity, but a pressing human rights issue. States are legally obligated to realise human rights for all, prioritising the most vulnerable which includes those living in extreme poverty.

Fighting drugs abuse

Drugs Abuse Drugs are nothing but a way to escape from oneself, from a reality which can neither be faced nor accepted. The "Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII" has experienced through the years that the problem of drug abuse can disappear if young people are given the opportunity to experience and realise positive and non-utopian ideals.

UPR

Drugs Abuse The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique process which involves a review of the human rights records of all 192 UN Member States once every four years. The Association "Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII" follow the work of UPR to monitoring the respect of human rights and contribute to their promotion in the countries where is present

Gender Equality

GenderEquality Gender equality is, first and foremost, a human right. Women are entitled to live in dignity and in freedom from want and from fear. The Association "Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII", called to sharing life with the most vulnerable in society, is committed to advocating for gender equality according to the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church.
